S.T.A.R.S.- S.P.Q.R. is a soccer team based in the Orlando, Florida area. We play in various competitions, mainly in the Central Florida Soccer League - men's Open PREMIER division.
In our recent history, we played our first Premier Division season last spring. We ended 6th in the league and reached the semi-finals in the tournament.
In the 3 seasons before that, we won the division 1A title and 2 consecutive 1A division President's Cups.

S.T.A.R.S. United (Soccer Teammates Achieving Rare Spirituality) is a club that focuses on contributions to the community through teaching soccer with a Christian Faith based foundation. The club is comprised of Multi-Cultural adult and youth Soccer teams. S.T.A.R.S. United began our relationship with Central Florida Soccer League (CFSL) in the fall of 2002. We entered the league in Division IIB and successfully worked through the ranks, to Division IA. Through the team’s progress, the core team members, Management and Coach remain intact. Several of the Team members also coach at the youth levels in the community.
Alessandro De Vivo formed SPQR in the late 90's. The team started as a Mexican-Colombian (mostly Latino based) that has been known since the mid-90's to compete in the Premier Division under 3 different names: Deportivo Tricolor, Deportivo Habanero and Deportivo Mexico. Alessandro was born and raised in Rome, Italy and moved to Orlando in 1998. SPQR is an acronym from a Latin phrase, Senatus Populusque Romanus ("The Senate and the People of Rome" or "The Senate and Roman People"), referring to the government of the ancient Roman Republic, and used as an official signature of the government.
